PRESIDENT'S
MESSAGE:
A beautiful Spring season has brought ample rains and lots of sunshine
and warm weather to Central Florida. The water levels on the Butler
Chain have fully recovered from the recent drought and are ready for
your recreational enjoyment throughout the 2003 Florida boating season.
Weather you use your OCSA membership for site picnics, pleasure boating,
water skiing, jet skiing, wake boarding, or volleyball by the lake,
please enjoy your family and friends ever mindful that "safety
is no accident." This continues to be a message worth repeating
at the beginning of each new season to ensure that your person and
property benefit from everyone's use of care and good judgment in
the use of the OCSA facilities. Now is also a great time for you and
your family to review your OCSA Rules and Regulations. Copies are
available from the OCSA business office.
I am pleased to report that your annual membership drive has successfully
concluded as we welcome renewing members and a small group of new
members to our 2003 membership roster. We are especially pleased by
the high rate of renewals which reflects the high value you place
on this unique membership opportunity. This is also validated by a
waiting list which continues to grow.
We will welcome these new members with a third annual "New Member's
Welcome Orientation"scheduled for June 7th from 10:00am to 12:30pm
This is an invitation only event designed to familiarize new members
with the operation and amenities of the OCSA club, rules and regulations,
as well as safety procedures and equipment. New members, please watch
for your RSVP invitations! Additionally, please note that all club
offerings remain open to the full membership throughout the day. this
includes free boat inceptions by a certified Marine Law Enforcement
Officer who has been asked to provide this service during the New
Member Welcome event.
The newly elected Board, and its officers, have been busy organizing
for a productive year of club activities. Board committees have been
formed to service Employee, Membership, Boat Storage, Buildings and
Grounds, Treasury, Safety & Security, Environment and Social Compliance,
Newsletter, Recreations and Social Events, Rules and Policy, and Board
Administrations operating requirements. The Board is committed to
the ongoing improvement of our operations and to your total enjoyment
of our club.
To this end, I also wanted to advise the full membership that, shortly,
we will begin to address some of the site deficiencies evident in
our Boat Storage facilities. Work is scheduled to occur during the
week days so as to reduce any inconvenience to the general membership.
We appreciate your understanding in cooperation during this improvement
disruption.
Please enjoy your club!
Best Regards,
